The Phoenix Firebirds and VOSHA Selects are proud to announce Arizona Amateur Alliance Hockey (AAA Hockey). This new partnership offers a complete path for Arizona youth hockey players of all ages and levels. “We have discussed the possibilities of partnering with VOSHA and Arcadia Ice Arena for a number of years now. “We are extremely pleased and very excited about this new Alliance.” says, Sean Whyte, DYHA Hockey Director.
The partnership will allow both organizations and their respective teams access to a second sheet of ice for the development of players and teams. “The fact that both of our facilities are geographically close together and centrally located within the Metro Phoenix area allows us to attract players from all over the valley.”, says Whyte. In addition to on-ice practices, teams will be able to train at CrossFit FullStrength within Arcadia Ice Arena.
Through this newly formed Alliance, The Phoenix Firebirds have been accepted into the North American Prospects Hockey League. (North American Prospects Hockey League http://www.naphl.com/about-us.cfm), which is the affiliated league recognized by the NAHL (North American Hockey League http://www.nahl.com/about/history.cfm). The Firebirds will enter three teams into the league which will exclusively represent Arizona in the NAPHL; U14AAA (Ron Filion), U16AAA (Ken Bouthillier), & U18AAA (Todd Collins). Whyte explains, “Our acceptance into the NAPHL was contingent on commitments from strong local Coaches like Todd Collins, Brad Bayer, Ken Bouthillier, Ron Filion, and many others. These teams will compete at the highest level across the country and be exposed to many Elite Junior, College, and Professional Teams, Coaches and Scouts. DYHA is also very excited to have two or three additional teams entering into the NJPHL (http://njphl.com/) for its 2nd season. This is a strong up and coming league that will help players reach their goals of playing Junior Hockey and going to College.
Teams from Squirts through U15 will have the opportunity to compete in various leagues including a new and exciting elite league called the National Independent Hockey League (NIHL) http://www.nihl.pointstreaksites.com/view/NIHL/home-page. This will allow players to showcase their talents and compete at the highest levels across the country. DYHA will also be working hand in hand with the VOSHA Selects in providing a strong development program for the young aspiring hockey players looking to excel in this sport and strive to compete at the higher levels. Arcadia Ice Arena and Oceanside Ice Arena will also be working together in building the best ADM program in Arizona, which will feed into Arcadia's Recreational Leagues and Travel Teams. “With all of the groups working together toward one common goal, there is a solid path to success for players of all ages and levels”, says Whyte.
